I am a member of the Board with responsibility for Finance and HR.
Having graduated from UMIST with a BSc in Computer Science I decided a purely IT career wasn’t for me and trained as a chartered management accountant. An MA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Huddersfield followed allowing me to indulge my interest in performance management.
I have worked on numerous projects, generally where there is a need to combine finance, technology and project management skills. This includes implementing new finance reporting systems, designing and delivering document management solutions, through to the full outsourcing of entire IT functions. The common thread to all these projects has been the removal of inefficiencies and streamlining the business processes and reporting. As a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute I subscribe to the philosophy that management is a skillset in its own right, distinct from being technically competent in any given role.
As part of DMW’s commitment to CSR I am a trustee and treasurer of Coram Voice, a national charity committed to empowering children and young people in care and campaigning for lasting change to improve their lives.
Outside of work I dabble in the kitchen and love cooking for friends and family; 14 courses is the current record. I ski whenever I get the chance and I’m still attempting to get my golfing handicap below 28.
I joined DMW in 2013, having held finance and operational roles within a number of medium-sized legal and accountancy practices.
