A DMW team fulfilled key roles as part of the client team to manage the architecture, design, build and test of a multiple operating company, UK-wide ERP programme. Bringing key enterprise and technical architecture expertise along with both functional and technical design skills to the project, DMW consultants were able to drive the end-to-end design and ensure the integrity of the ERP solution and the associated integrated technologies.
DMW performed a number of management roles with responsibility for managing delivery from functional and technical work streams, managing relationships with key stakeholders within the wider (non-programme) business and interfacing directly into programme manager and programme director. DMW consultants also drove the production and implementation of a planning framework to bring increased rigour to the delivery planning activity as well as a more robust outcome from it.
DMW brought specific Service Oriented Architecture expertise to the programme team that proved extremely valuable in managing the design process for a number of integrations that were required for the end to end solution.
Some functional configuration and much of the technical delivery was undertaken offshore through an Indian IT service provider. DMW consultants provided significant delivery management insight which was utilised by both the service provider and the client to increase effectiveness of technical delivery for the programme. Barriers to delivery were reduced by DMW’s approach to improving visibility, increasing communication and participation, and working practices that recognised the joint, yet distributed, nature of the combined team.
