The challenge

> The client's business and IT operating model needed to be updated to future-proof the organisation for anticipated scale increases. This involved improving operational efficiency and deploying effective delivery capabilities. They did not have the governance or delivery structure in place to deliver change.

>The transformation plan needed to be mapped out and we identified the delivery dependencies, the necessary trade-offs and the level of complexity involved in the project.

> Their existing tech capabilities were no longer fit for purpose and they needed to explore the opportunities available to them in the market.

How we helped

> We produced a Current State Assessment of the operating model, documenting the ‘As-Is’ end-to end-processes in place.

> Using an industry-tailored capability model, we evaluated the application landscape and used this to pinpoint any gaps. This enabled us to identify quick wins that would show early success and unlock further funds for change.

> We then worked with the board to articulate a new business vision and translate this into strategic imperatives for the year ahead.  We converted the strategy into a high-level operational design with an enterprise operating model.

> Through evaluation of new product ideas using Ansoff’s strategic product planning tool, we  identified two key areas for immediate growth.

> We were able to define ‘To-Be’ value streams, which created a high-level view of the target state. This enabled the business to drive value through digital adoption, cloud migration, process automation, resilient processes, and standardised applications.

> An assessment of changes required for each stream was captured in a solution roadmap and we documented the requirements to support an RFP tender.
