Derek Moore

I joined DMW in early 2004, having previously spent time with Logica, Cambridge Technology Partners, Zefer (a small dotcom) and PA Consulting. Graduating from Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 1990 with an Honours Degree in Electrical and Information Sciences, I subsequently gained PRINCE2 practitioner and ITIL foundation qualifications. 

I’m a project manager specializing in the delivery of complex technical projects, particularly software development, in multi-cultural, global, organisations. Being ¾ Scandinavian and having lived abroad for most of my childhood probably helps here! 

Most recently I have been leading a major technical refresh of one of the UK's largest commodity trading platforms involving over 40 man years of development and testing, the majority of which has been completed in Bangalore. Other recent projects include a data centre migration for a trading environment, and project managing an upgrade to a commercial bank’s internet banking platform. I’ve also got a solid background in architecture, having defined the architecture that underpins Singapore’s de-regulated electricity industry. 

Outside of work, my 3 children are training me for a 2nd career as a taxi-driver as I bus them around between their various activities; I'm looking forward to the day that I can introduce them to my enjoyment of windsurfing and sailing.
